SSD’s are fast drives compared to the HDD’s, Samsung is very fastest consumer drives. Samsung drives are insanely fast to read and write the data where they can also boost the computer. Samsung has an extra feature called Rapid Mode that can boost the SSD into turbo speed.

You can’t increase the speed of the SSD speed by crossing the limitations of the drives. So, Rapid Mode uses the computer ram to boost up the cache files to quicker boot-up and to more speed in write.

Rapid mode supported drives

The ‘NVMe’ SSD drives from the Samsung can’t support the Rapid Mode because they are fast enough. Samsung 960 and 970 are the full supported devices to use rapid mode. Samsung 750 Evo can also support the Rapid Mode by varying the settings. Rapid Mode only supports ‘Non-NVMe’ drives and it can only work on windows 7 or the later versions of the windows it will also need a minimum of 2GB of ram.

HOW TO ENABLE RAPID MODE

Firstly, you will need to download the Samsung Magician Application and install it on your windows. After downloading and install the application follow the steps to enable the rapid mode.

  1. Open the Magician application.
  2. Choose your drive using the drop-down button.
  3. Turn ON the Rapid Mode toggle switch.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click YES to restart your system to apply the RAPID mode.

Once you turn ON the RAPID mode the system will boot up with the speed mode and performs the tasks fast as compared to the normal speed of the drive.

HOW TO DISABLE THE RAPID MODE

If you are about to test your SSD performance then you will need to disable the RAPID mode. Follow the steps to disable the RAPID mode:

  1. Open the Magician application.
  2. Choose your drive using the drop-down button.
  3. Turn OFF the Rapid Mode toggle switch.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click YES to restart your system to disable the RAPID mode.

Once you completed these steps the rapid mode will turned off then you will able to test your SSD’s performance and other tests.
