ZIP THE FILES TO SAVE THE HARD DISK SPACE
Follow the steps to compress the files to save the hard disk space:
- Open the file explorer.
- Open the folder you want to compress.
- Now right click on the empty space.
- Click New.
- Click on the Compressed (zipped) folder.
- Select all the files and pictures you want to zip.
- Use ctrl + x to cut the selected files and pictures.
- Open the Compressed (zipped) folder.
- Use ctrl + V to paste the files and folders into the Compressed (zipped) folder.

Follow the steps to compress the files to share them on the internet or with others:
- Open the file explorer.
- Open the folder you want to compress.
- Now right click on the empty space.
- Click New.
- Click on the Compressed (Zipped) Folder.
- Right click on the files and pictures you want to share.
- Click on the send to Compressed (zipped) folder.

HOW TO UNZIP THE FILES
Windows 10 supports the zip so you can double click on the zip folder to view the compressed files. But the thing is you won’t be able to edit the content in the zip folder unless you extract the folder. Follow the steps to extract the files from the zipped folder:
By Using Extract All
- Open file explorer.
- Right click on the compressed folder.
- Click Extract All option.
- The files in the compressed folder will extract at the same place in the file explorer.
- Alternatively you can click on the Browse button to extract in a different place.
- Tick the Show extracted files when complete.
- Click Extract.
By using file explorer
- Open file explorer.
- Select the files you want to extract.
- Right click and select the cut option.
- Or use ctrl + X short cut to cut the files.
- Go to your location you want to paste or unzip the compressed folder.
- Right click and select paste option.
